The Covenant and Its Results
It is written: Dan 9:27-And he (the man of sin, the Antichrist) shall confirm the covenant (or agreement, or treaty) with many (which is Israel and others) for one week (or 7 years, or 7 x 360 days, or a total of 2520 days).
The verse (Dan 9:27) continues to the midst of the Tribulation: and in the midst (or middle) of the week (or 7) (or at the point of 1260 days), he (the Antichrist) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (or he shall put an end to the sacrifice and offering), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, (or on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation even until the consummation (or end), and that determined (or decreed) shall be poured upon the desolate (or on him, or the Antichrist).
Later in the first part of the Tribulation, the Temple would be rebuilt on the Temple Mount. Sacrifices and oblations would be initiated. But when the Antichrist reigned and ruled in Jerusalem and proclaimed himself to be God, he caused the sacrifices and oblations to stop.
The Tribulation consisted of two parts of 1260 days each; however, the first part was shortened. If it had not been shortened, when the end of the Tribulation came, no flesh on earth would have been left alive.
As should later be covered, the elect (those that had put their trust in Jesus Christ) were to flee when the Abomination of Desolation would be seen, which was approximately 1260 days from the end. Because the first part of the Tribulation had been shortened, they could not count 1260 days from the date of the covenant. Rather they had to look for the Abomination of Desolation to occur, and then flee fast to the place that God had prepared for them, which was yet unknown.
There are no adequate words to describe the Tribulation that is now past and the Battle of Armageddon that followed. There are no events from world history to compare with what has happened in the last few years.
Despite all of this, it was a time when merchants would prosper.
Twelve times the word wrath is used in connection with the Tribulation or with the Battle of Armageddon in the KJV. In addition, it is used four more times in the NIV. Note Rev 6:17-THE GREAT DAY OF HIS WRATH IS COME. In addition, it is in Jere 30:7-The time of Jacob’s trouble; Dan 12:1-A time of trouble; Lk 21:22-The days of vengeance.
Before the Tribulation, mankind had turned away from God. The cursing of His name was common when a person got mad, but sometimes cursing His Holy Name became a part of daily speech. Even the Christian churches were no longer teaching to please God, but rather to please people; yet they were so blind, they did not know this. Some of the most horrendous sins in the Bible were commonplace, such as men with men and women with women. There were even so-called Christian churches for people to attend that practiced alternate lifestyles, and marriages were allowed with two men, or two women.
Israel had also turned from God. Even in Israel, the Holy Land, gay parades and flags were common. There seemed to be little shame. People of alternate lifestyles became more and more common. Around much of the world and even in Israel, it was beginning to be as Sodom and Gomorrah.
The Bible gave approximately 22 names regarding the Tribulation. Some of these include:
As already mentioned, the Tribulation began with the Antichrist confirming a covenant or agreement with Israel and others.
At the beginning of the Tribulation, there were well over 7 billion people alive on the earth. Following the Battle of Armageddon, at the Judgment, there were so few, a child could write them.
Soon after the Rapture happened, and about the time the Tribulation began—there came a time that all wind on the earth ceased. John saw FOUR ANGELS STANDING ON THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH HOLDING THE FOUR WINDS OF THE EARTH THAT IT SHOULD NOT BLOW ON THE EARTH, NOR ON THE SEA, NOR ON ANY TREE.
Nothing on the earth and sea was hurt at this time.
At that time, 144,000 male, virgin Jews were sealed with the seal of the living God on their foreheads. There were no lies in their mouth. At that time, they did not believe in Jesus Christ, but that would soon change.
This seal protected them from the soon coming destruction that came upon much of the earth.
It protected them from those that would later seek to kill them, as they would evangelize the earth Twelve thousand were sealed from each of the tribes of Israel. These were Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. Many were Ultra-Orthodox.
The fact that they were called, being offered as the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb, may indicate they were the first to be saved after the Rapture happened.
None were sealed from the tribe of Dan. Regarding the tribe of Dan, it was written in Gen 49:17-Dan shall be a serpent by the way (or roadside), an adder (or viper) in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall (or tumbles) backward. Dan is never listed in the New Testament. The Antichrist was from one of the tribes of Israel. Dan, however, is among the tribes during the Millennium.
Great tensions had existed between Israel and Iran.
Iran’s goal was the destruction of the Jews in Israel. Iran had been seeking to build one or more atomic bombs about 20 times bigger than used in Japan.
Russia had warned Israel that an attack on Iran was the same as an attack against them.
Russia had been allied with Iran, just as God’s Word had predicted it would happen. They had been helping Iran. Russia had initiated a massive build up in their military. That 10 year program was about completed, when the Rapture took the saints. It included everything from helicopters to stealth missiles to new satellites, to satellites that could destroy other satellites, to advanced technology to defeat detection systems and much more. This buildup had been conceived around 2009.
Meanwhile, the United States had downsized its military, but not when it came to advanced weapons and military satellites. The combined super-weapons of Russia and the USA, if all were used, were capable of destroying all life on earth about 6 times over. However the military readiness of the many of the super weapons of the USA had fallen into decay. But this did change as the Tribulation approached.
Nevertheless, very few of the prophecy scholars of that time or the people of the world ever believed there would be a World War 3. Few ever understood that, that war would include Russia and the United States doing great destruction to each other. Almost none foresaw that one-fourth of the world’s population would be killed as a result.
A coalition of nations had been put together by Russia previously. It was in perfect harmony with Ezekiel chapter 38.
Tensions had been growing between Russia and the USA.
Back in 2014, Russia had made the statement that they could turn the USA into a radio-active pile of ash.
Russia did things that provoked both the USA and EU.
The USA and the EU did things that irritated Russia.
The USA had, in turn, called Russia no more than a regional power. However God, through His Word, had called the military of Magog (which is Russia) and its allies, which were to come against Israel in the latter days, “A GREAT COMPANY”-Ezek 38:3.
Not long after, the man of sin that had assumed control of a united Europe, confirmed a covenant or treaty with Israel and others. The Bible had foretold this in Dan 9:27.
About this time, Magog’s leader called GOG (which is Russia’s leader) had a thought. Their economy had felt the effects of various situations that had come to pass.
The Jews had been sent into all the nations of the world because of sin about 2,000 years ago. They had waited and waited for the time that Israel would once again become a nation. Then, it happened, as said previously, in 1948. Even though God had promised in His Word that He would do this, when they returned to the land of Israel, they forgot their God.
Many of the Jews had returned to their land from the nations of the world. It was God doing it, but they did not know this. They were gathered from the countries of their enemies, but they still lived in sin.
The combined Russian and Arab invasion of Israel did not catch Israel completely off guard. Some knew well the prophecies of the prophets concerning this matter, but they believed they were safe because of the covenant or treaty with the man of sin. They were wrong.
However few people throughout the world understood there were three parts to World War 3.
These would include the advance of Russia and its allies into Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Part 2 was Russia and its allies invading Israel.
After that there would be a third part that lasted only 4 hours of the day and 4 hours of the night—a total of 8 hours. The destruction that would happen at that time was what the world expected could happen one day, but hoped it never would.
Many prior to the Rapture had not understood this. This was partly because of a misunderstanding of how some of the 7 seals and 7 trumpet judgments of the Revelation related to each other, as well as other scriptures.
Israel had expected that there will be peace, because of the covenant or treaty with the man of sin. But God had warned Israel in His Word: Isa 28:18-20 had told them: And YOUR COVENANT WITH DEATH SHALL BE DISANNULLED, AND YOUR AGREEMENT WITH HELL (or the grave) SHALL NOT STAND; WHEN THE OVERWHELMING SCOURGE SWEEPS BY, YOU WILL BE BEATEN DOWN BY IT.
20-THE BED IS TOO SHORT TO STRETCH OUT ON, THE BLANKET TOO NARROW TO WRAP AROUND YOU. Their trust in the covenant was of no real value.
God set His face against the ruler of Russia, the chief of a land that was very large.
The vast Russian military machine had undergone awesome upgrades in about every area, from satellites, anti-satellites, stealth aircraft and missiles, even devising “weapons” that were radar resistant.
He began to devise an evil scheme. That plan included attacking Israel which was at rest.
He considered that he could strike them fast. He could strike them in so many directions at the same time that they would quickly be overwhelmed and confused.
By knocking out Israel’s satellites and early warning devices, such as on Mt. Hermon and other places, Russia and its allies could gain the temporary upper hand of surprise.
Russia’s leader thought to himself, “I will plunder and loot (or take a spoil and take a prey) and turn my hand against the resettled ruins (that are now inhabited) and upon the people gathered out of the nations, rich in livestock or cattle and goods, living at the center of the land."
As previously mentioned, Russia’s 10 year military buildup was about complete. It was prepared.
Israel was a prosperous nation.
They had much gold and silver.
They had many valuable possessions.
They had advanced technology.
They were rich in livestock and food.
Russia’s economy on the other hand was much less prosperous as it had gone through some difficulties. Russia and the USA had also been at odds. This was also in the mind of its leaders, which played its part in that last part of the war.
Russia (which is Magog) begin to come, but then turned back. They were turned around, but then went toward Israel.
